STILL LIFE PAINTINGS
I never thought I would enjoy
painting still life but I find the work both extremely challenging and
rewarding. What is it about still life that excites me? I guess it's the
light. It's always the light. I love to display it moving across a
table where it lights first one object and then another until blooming
into full intensity on a main subject. I always start a painting with the
same intention - to create a masterpiece. Some of my pieces are done in one
sitting (ala prima) - small ones are my daily paintings. But I also enjoy
taking my time and building a painting slowly with many layers of paint.

"Dynasty"
Oil on Linen
24" x 28"
$750 USD Framed
"Dynasty" was painted for a one woman show recently held at the
Blue Whole Gallery in
Sequim, WA. I'm still working at getting a better picture of this
piece. The heavy glazing creates some glare problems. Click on the
image for a better view. Use your back button to return to this page.

"Sleeping Magnolias"
Oil Painting on Canvas
48" x 36"
$500 USD Unframed
Gallery Wrap style Canvas
Does not require framing
I was experimenting with very large canvases at the time I painted
"Sleeping Magnolias". This is a great painting for a formal dining area
or living room. Click on the image to enlarge. Use your back button to

"Polishing Day"
Pastel Painting
20" x 24"
$1,060
Framed with wood frame and Den Glass
"Polishing Day"
is one of my older Trompe l'Oeil works in pastel. I was inspired by the
holidays. Always before a holiday my mother pulled out the good silver and
I was assigned the task of cleaning and polishing all that beautiful
stuff. I always loved the way the shine came up on the silver. And I loved
the way I was able to make that happen in the painting as well! Click on
the image to see it enlarged. Use your back button to return to this page.
